Rules • No Godmoding. By this, I mean do not assume that your character is all powerful and can never be hurt. Be realistic. For instance, chances are pretty good that Nightcrawler is not going to overpower the Hulk. • Respect those that you play with. Out of character slander will not be tolerated here for any reason. So play nice. • Know the characters that you portray. • If you are in a mod-run thread, do not presume to control the NPC's. By that, I mean do not assume that just because your character punches at, swings at, blasts at, etc random baddie, that the action will hit or do damage. It will be up to the mod to determine that. • In the interest of having a level playing field, if your first character is a hero your second must be a villain, and vice versa. A possible exception to this rule would be a neutral character, or someone who has played both sides. • Players should post at least once a month, though of course more activity than that is encouraged. If for some reason you have to take a leave of absence, let one of the mods know, otherwise we will have to assume you dropped the game. • Going along with the last rule, if you are in a mod run storyline with a lot of other players and suddenly you stop posting, you will be skipped and your characters actions will be npc'ed so as not to hold up the game for everyone else. • If participating in something that could be labeled as mature content, such as excessive amounts of gore or sex scenes, you must properly label it (something like NSFW would be fine), and put it behind a cut. • Unless it is specifically stated/shown in the comics canon (and there are some), all characters are assumed to be heterosexual. • If your character speaks with an accent, or has any other peculiar way of speaking, write it in the dialog only. • If you only have time to literally reply to a thread with a few words, do not post and wait until you have more time. • For the sake of people reading your threads, and vice versa, please try to maintain some sort of grammatical structure. There should be no excuse for spelling mistakes since you can spell check before you post. • Do not assume to kill, take from, or otherwise manipulate the character of another player without speaking to them first. F.A.Q. • The character I want to play is on the restricted list. Why can't I play him/her? If your character is on the restricted list, there are a myriad of reasons for it. The character could be dead, deemed too powerful for this game, or be on reserve for an upcoming storyline. Obviously depending on the character, this answer will vary. For the love of all that is holy, please do not try to apply for Galactus. • As a result of M-Day, my most favorite mutant in the world is depowered. Any way around that? Certainly! This is the marvel universe after all, and already there are mutants that have regained their powers in various ways, or gained entirely new ones altogether. If you want to play a mutant that has lost their powers, email us and we can see what we can work out regarding that. • Why the limit on characters? I should play the X-Men all by myself! There is a limit to join only one character per team for the simple reason that as many ppl who want to play one of the X-Men should be given a chance. If one person is playing four characters, that really cuts out on the opportunities for other prospective players. • Can I make original characters? As of the moment.. no. That said, I definitely forsee the possibility in the future, but for now I want to get as many actual canon characters into play as possible before opening that door. • My favorite character is dead! Can I still play him/her? This is ultimately going to depend upon the character in question. Anything can, and pretty much has happened in the marvel universe, but there are some characters that simply need to stay dead. If you want to ask about this, feel free to email us and ask. |
